Bwa Spirit Mask

History & Significance

The Bwa Spirit Mask is an iconic symbol of the Bwa people of Burkina Faso. These large, striking masks are traditionally used in rituals that honor nature spirits and celebrate significant life events, such as initiations, harvest festivals, and funerals.
